Maine Bound Guides offers guided canoe trips in Maine. Favorite places included the Sheepscot River, the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, the St. Croix River, the Brownfield Bog and many local rivers and lakes. Seasonal land based outings and classes that teach bush craft or woodcraft skills are also offered.
Maine Bound Guides is owned and operated by River “Jamal” Lee who is a registered Maine Guide. River’s guiding career began in 1995 and has taken him through the great state of Maine as well as New Hampshire, North Carolina, Alaska and even overseas to Ecuador. River has a degree in Outdoor Education from the University of New Hampshire. River also has a construction company called Ridgetop Construction (http://ridgetopconstruction.wordpress.com/) and a counseling service called Mountain Spirit Journeys (http://www.mountainspiritjourneys.com/).
River lives in Woolwich, ME with his family and enjoys subsistence activities. This consists of fishing, hunting and gathering and cutting firewood. A second base of operation for River is in Denmark, ME, where he has a cabin in the forest. A couple of batteries serve to power simple LED lights and rainwater is collected for washing dishes.
