Umbagog Lake...Shallow Waters

Umbagog Lake, (pronounced as um-BAY-gog), sits on the border of NH and Maine and is the largest lake that borders the two states.  The Lake Umbagog Wildlife Refuge encompasses more than 20,500 acres and protects the habitat and animals that use the land.

Easy access and wonderful island camping sites makes Umbagog Lake user friendly.  These remote campsites are accessed by the water and each has a unique vantage point.  Each site has a primitive privy, picnic table and spots to pitch tents.

A day on Umbagog Lake brings the many moods of the water and sky.  It is common to see eagles, osprey, loons, ducks and many other birds.  The night is often filled with the wonderful sound of the loons songs.  Their songs penetrate deep into the sleeping souls and stirs the dreams with longing and love.

Our trips to Umbagog Lake range from 3 days to 4 days.  The wonderful energy of Umbagog Lake makes the stay feel like a wilderness retreat. Join us on Umbagog Lake for some good food and rejuvenation.
